If your child was contacted by a predator on Roblox and then groomed, sexually exploited or abused, your family may have a claim against Roblox and other platforms involved. Families across the country have sued, and federal cases are now consolidated in one court in California.
At Wieand Parker Arreola, we are investigating Roblox child exploitation claims, including cases where contact started on Roblox and moved to Discord, Snapchat or other apps. All inquiries are confidential. Call (215) 666-7777 for a free, confidential case review.
Roblox is one of the most popular platforms for children, and many of its users are under 13. The lawsuits allege predators exploited its design to find and groom young players by:
The complaints say Roblox marketed itself as safe for kids while failing to verify ages, limit adult contact with children or respond to reports of predatory accounts.
In December 2025, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation consolidated federal cases into MDL No. 3166, In re: Roblox Corporation Child Sexual Exploitation and Assault Litigation, before Chief Judge Richard Seeborg in the Northern District of California. The docket has grown steadily, reaching about 170 pending cases by July 2026. Several state attorneys general, including those of Louisiana and Texas, have also sued Roblox over child safety.
Roblox has tried to send some cases to private arbitration under its user terms. Families have pushed back, and at least one court has refused, relying on a federal law that lets sexual assault survivors keep their claims in public court. In 2025 and 2026, Roblox rolled out new age-check requirements for chat. The lawsuits argue those protections came far too late.
Families are bringing claims for negligence, defective design, failure to warn and misrepresentation. Where contact moved to other apps, claims may also be brought against Discord or Snapchat. These cases are part of a broader wave of social media child exploitation lawsuits.
Roblox and other popular games also face separate claims that they were designed to be addictive. See our page on video game addiction lawsuits.
These are the main factors we review:
Survivors who are now adults may also qualify.
If a child is in danger, contact law enforcement. Report exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline, and use NCMEC’s Take It Down tool to help remove images of minors. Keep the Roblox account active, screenshot usernames and messages, and save purchase records. Do not forward explicit images of a minor, even as evidence.
The child exploitation cases are individual lawsuits coordinated in an MDL, so each family’s damages are evaluated separately.
If contact began on Roblox, Roblox may still be responsible, and the other platforms may be added as defendants.
As of November 2026, we are not aware of a global settlement of the child exploitation claims.
